Social Media Specialist

MILITARY RECRUITMENT ACCOUNT | REMOTE | MID-ATLANTIC PREFERRED | FULL-TIME

About LMO Advertising

LMO is an Arlington, VA agency with nearly 30 years of experience specializing in commitment-driven marketing — helping organizations turn attention into meaningful action for audiences who don't make impulse decisions. Whether the goal is military recruitment, membership growth, or mission-driven outreach, we build solutions where trust, relevance, and consistency matter.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Social Media Specialist to own and grow the organic social media program for one of our most prestigious military recruitment accounts — building an authentic digital community and inspiring the next generation to commit to a career of service.

The Social Media Specialist will develop strategy, create content, test what drives genuine organic engagement, and grow a passionate, mission-aligned audience of 18–24-year-olds considering military service. They will have direct weekly visibility with senior military and federal government clients, presenting their work, insights, and recommendations to high-level stakeholders.

For the right candidate, this is a career-defining account. The combination of a high-stakes federal client, a Gen Z audience, and full ownership of an organic social program is the kind of experience that sets you apart for the next decade of your career. This is not an assistant role. The Social Media Specialist owns the strategy, the content, and the results.

If you are ambitious, data-curious, and ready to own something that genuinely matters, this role will accelerate your trajectory.

This position is remote, with a Mid-Atlantic location preferred to support occasional in-person client engagement.

  • Manage client expectations professionally, communicate proactively, and build a trusted advisor relationship with the account team.

  • Collaborate with account and creative teams to ensure alignment across all deliverables.

  • As capacity allows, support other LMO client accounts and contribute to the agency's broader social media practice.
